A Milestone for Ethical Dairy Innovation
The TransformDairyNet project celebrated a milestone with its first in-person General Assembly and European Knowledge and Innovation Network (EKIN) meeting, held in Thessaloniki, Greece, from 21 to 23 May 2025. Approximatly 60 participants from 14 countries came together to exchange knowledge, assess progress, and strengthen collaboration for more sustainable, ethical, and economically viable dairy CCC systems.
The event featured a dynamic mix of presentations, case studies, interactive panel discussions, and cross-country dialogue involving farmers, veterinarians, researchers, advisors, NGOs, and supply chain actors. Topics included welfare assessment, market positioning, practical innovations, and success stories. And now, the recording are available: below on the event page or on TDN Youtube Playlist.
“This project is not just about research—it’s about delivering real support for farmers, enabling change, and securing a future for ethical, sustainable dairy across Europe.” said Prof. Siobhan Mullan (UCD, Project Coordinator).

The General Assembly also provided space to review progress across all work packages—from stakeholder mapping to the development of CCC tools and metrics—and align next steps ahead of key project deliverables.
Looking ahead, TDN will consolidate insights from its National Innovation Practice Hubs, enhance digital knowledge-sharing platforms, and launch Living Labs (LLs) later this year. The first LL proposals have been reviewed, and a second call remains open until 1 September 2025.
TransformDairyNet continues to support European dairy farmers in co-developing high-welfare, practical solutions—with knowledge, trust, and innovation at its core.
