TDN at the Horizon Clustering Meeting in Brussels

[Communication]

Last month, TDN proudly took part in the Horizon Clustering Meeting of thematic and advisory networks and AKIS-related projects, held in Brussels. Representing TDN was Ebba Eriksson from EFFAB, who brought our project’s vision and farmer-focused approach into the spotlight.

Showcasing TDN’s Co-Creative Approach

During the event, Ebba presented TDN’s farmer-led, co-creative approach to knowledge exchange. This method, which places farmers at the heart of innovation, attracted strong attention from participants. In particular, the networking work on Cow-Calf Contact (CCC), core of TDN, was highlighted.

Contributing to the Discussion

Ebba also joined the panel discussion on “Effective Dissemination of R&I Results to Farmers – Lessons Learnt”, where she shared valuable insights on how to ensure that research and innovation genuinely serve farmers’ needs. Her message was clear: innovation must be practical, accessible, and farmer-friendly if it is to drive real change in the field.

Resonating Across Projects and Institutions

It was inspiring to see great enthusiasm for TDN’s work among other EU projects and institutions. The interest shown in our approach to CCC and knowledge exchange confirmed that TDN’s mission aligns closely with the wider European effort to connect expertise, practice, and policy in agriculture.

Event Highlights

The Horizon Clustering Meeting brought together many voices and ideas. Among the highlights:

  • A workshop on “Turning innovation into impact” led by EU-FarmBook, PREMIERE, and ATTRACTISS, which encouraged practical reflection on making innovation usable at farm level.
  • Inspiring opening remarks from Paul Webb (REA) and Henri Delanghe (DG AGRI), setting the tone for collaboration and knowledge-sharing across projects.

Looking Ahead

TDN’s participation in this meeting reinforced our commitment to ensuring that farmers remain central to innovation in the dairy sector. We are part of a growing movement towards sustainable, welfare-oriented, and practical farming solutions.

We look forward to continuing this diffusion and to working with our partners across Europe to turn ideas into action.
