Exploring Cow-Calf Contact Systems in Organic Dairy Farming

In recent years, “an increasing number of organic dairy farmers has gained interest in CCC systems, where cow and calf stay together longer than the normal 24 hours, which is otherwise common practice, also in accordance to the legislation for organic farming.

One reason behind this raising interest is the consumers’ increased demand for higher animal welfare in animal farming.”

This new video, with English subtitles, gives us an inside look at how two different Danish farms have managed and experienced the transition. The farmers openly share the process, the challenges they encountered, and what motivated them to adopt this new approach.
